An experienced Integration Engineer is required to support the development, integration and qualification of new semiconductor technologies at Octric's cleanroom facility in County Durham.
Summary of Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Yield & Integration Manager, the role will be responsible for integrating individual processes into stable,robust and manufacturable process flows.
Working across Process, Device, Design, Quality and Production teams, the Integration Engineer will support new technologies from development through qualification and into production.
Main Tasks:
- Work with Process, Device, Design, Quality and Production teams to develop and integrate new technologies in line with the Octric technology roadmap.
- Develop and maintain integrated process flows and manage key interfaces between process steps.
- Identify integration risks and drive actions to resolve them.
- Plan and coordinate engineering trials to demonstrate process capability and manufacturability.
- Analyse process, electrical and yield data to identify trends and integration-related issues.
- Support root-cause investigation of process excursions, yield loss and device performance issues.
- Apply SPC, DOE and FMEA techniques to support process development and improvement.
- Support technology gate reviews, process qualification and change control.
- Work with Process and Yield Engineering to improve process capability, device performance and manufacturing yield.
- Support the transfer and ramp-up of new processes and technologies into production.
- Maintain appropriate process integration and qualification documentation.
- Ensure activities are carried out in accordance with Octric Quality and EH&S requirements.
Experience:
- Experience within a semiconductor manufacturing or process development environment.
- Good understanding of semiconductor wafer fabrication and interactions between process steps.
- Process knowledge across more than one semiconductor manufacturing discipline.
- Experience of process integration, process development or technology transfer into manufacturing.
- Ability to understand the impact of process changes on device performance, yield and downstream processing.
- Experience of analysing process, electrical and yield data and structured problem solving.
- Knowledge of SPC, DOE, FMEA and process change control.
- Ability to plan and coordinate engineering trials and qualification activities.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively across engineering and manufacturing teams.
- Experience of III-V compound semiconductor technologies, particularly GaAs and/or GaN, would be advantageous.
Education / Qualifications:
- Degree in Physics, Engineering, Materials Science, Electronics or another relevant scientific or engineering discipline.
- Six Sigma or equivalent process improvement experience would be advantageous.
